PTU: Winter Fun

This tutorial was written by me on December 29, 2017. The results are of my own imagination.  Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental.

Please DO NOT claim this tutorial as your own.

This was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.

Please keep in mind that I write the tutorial as I am creating it.

Sometimes I may not explain properly where to place things so please see my example if you are ever in doubt :)

Supplies needed

I am using PSP 2018 but this tutorial should work with any version.

PTU Kit:  I am using a beautiful Inspired by kit called "IB-SheenaPike-16-2" created by Foxy Designz.  This kit can only be used with any artist.  You can purchase this kit at CDO here. Check out Foxys Blog here.

Mask:  Winter mask 12.  Created by Dangerously Delicious Designz.  You can download it from Dee's blog here.  Open in PSP and minimize.

Font of choice

Plug in: Eyecandy 4000 Gradient Glow

I am using a drop shadow (D/S) of V 0 H 5, Opacity 55, blur 15, color black throughout the tutorial unless otherwise stated.

Let's get started.

Open a new 750x750 transparent image.  We will resize later.

Add a new raster layer, select all.

Open paper 1, copy and close the original.  Edit, paste into selection.  Select none.  Layers, new mask layer, from image, find Dee's mask in the drop down and click ok.  Merge group.  Resize 90%

Open element 10, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Resize 85% and move up.  Drop shadow.

Open element 11, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Resize 85% and move down.   Drop shadow.

Open element 5, copy and close the original.  Select the tree layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the left so it covers the bottom of the tree line.  Duplicate and resize another 40% and move to the bottom center of the first snow bank.  Drop shadow each layer.

Open frame 3, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the right so it covers the ice.  Using your magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections, modify, expand by 5.  Add a new raster layer under the frame.  Copy paper 2 and standing on the new raster layer.  Edit, paste into selections.  Copy the tube and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and move the face into the frame.  Selections, invert and standing on the tube, hit delete on your keyboard.  Change the blend mode to multiply and lower the opacity to 75.  Merge down with the paper.  Open element 2, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and move into the frame until you find a spot you like.  Hit delete on your keyboard again.  Merge down to your tube.  Select none.  Drop shadow the frame and merge down again.

Copy the tube, select the top layer and paste.  Resize 60% and mirror.  Move to the center so the bottom of the skate is slightly on the ice.  Drop shadow.

Open element 9, copy and close the original.  Select the tree layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move slightly to the left so it peeks up from behind the snow bank.  Duplicate and mirror.  Move this layer above the frame layer.  Move to the bottom of the frame.  Duplicate one more time and resize 90% move down so it's on the ice.  Drop shadow each layer.

Open element 6, copy and close the original.  Select the second ice block and paste.  Resize 30% and move to the right so it is between the two ice blocks.  Duplicate, move under the original ice layer and move up slightly.  Drop shadow each layer.

Open WordArt1, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 60%.  Apply gradient glow basic setting set to 5, color tab, select fat.  Move to the bottom left.

Open element 15, copy and close the original.  Select the wordart and paste.  Resize 20% and move to the top W.  Drop shadow.

Add any other elements you like.
