PTU Steampunk for Me

This tutorial was written by me on November 11, 2017. The results are of my own imagination.  Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental.

Please DO NOT claim this tutorial as your own.

This was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.

Please keep in mind that I write the tutorial as I am creating it.

Sometimes I may not explain properly where to place things so please see my example if you are ever in doubt :)

Supplies needed

I am using PSP X9 but this tutorial should work with any version.

PTU Tube:  I am using a gorgeous tube called "Steampunk 9" created by Chris Pastel.  Please do not use this tubes without a proper license.
You can purchase this beauty at Chris Pastel's store here

PTU Kit:  I am using Dance in the Rain's gorgeous Matching kit called "Steampunk 9 Mega Kit".  This kit is exclusive to Dance in the Rain's store.  You can purchase it here.

Check out her blog here.

Mask:  Mask_Viv_43.  You can download it from Dragonfly's PSP blog here.  Thank you for the great masks.  Left click to enlarge the mask then right click and save as.  Open and minimize in psp.

Font of choice for your name.

Plug in: None

I am using a drop shadow (D/S) of V 0 H 5, Opacity 75, blur 10, color black throughout the tutorial unless otherwise stated.

Let's get started.

Open a new 800x800 transparent image.

Add a new raster layer and select all.  Open paper 24, copy and close the original.  Standing on the new raster layer, edit, paste into selections, select none.  Apply mask, merge group and resize 95%.

Open element 180, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move up to the upper left and drop shadow.

Open element 100, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the upper right corner.  Drop shadow.

Open element 86, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 60% and mirror.  Move to the upper right corner so it overlaps the clock.  Drop shadow.

Copy your tube, select the working layer and paste.  Resize 30% and move slightly to the left and up.  Drop shadow.

Open element 147, copy and close the original.  Select the blue cluster layer and paste.  Resize 60% and mirror.  Move to the bottom left (not all the way to the bottom) and drop shadow.

Open element 151, copy and close the original.  Select the car layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the right about midway.  Drop shadow.

Open element 116, copy and close the original.  Select the car layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom left so it peeks out from behind the tube.  Drop shadow.

Open element 69, copy and close the original.  Select the brown clog cluster layer and paste.  Resize 50% and move to the upper left corner.  Hide your tube.  Using your magic wand, click inside each letter of the steampunk.  Selections, expand by 3.  Add a new raster layer underneath the Steampunk sign.  Open paper 6, copy and close the original.  Standing on the new layer, edit, paste into selections.  Select none.  Drop shadow the sign and merge down to the paper.  Unhide the tube.

Open element 23, copy and close the original.  Select the plane layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom right so it peeks out from behind the tube.  Drop shadow.

Open element 163, copy and close the original.  Select the blue clog cluster layer and paste.  Resize 40% and mirror.  Move to the left so it shows above the car's hood.  Drop shadow.

Open element 168, copy and close the original.  Select the hat layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom right and drop shadow.

Open element 150, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 25% and move to the bottom right of the suitcase.  Drop shadow.

Open element 92, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom left corner of the tube so it covers her legs.  Drop shadow.

Add any other elements you like.

Merge visible.

Crop your tag to get rid of any hidden images or pixels.
