PTU: In the words



This tutorial was written by me on March 24, 2013 and are the result of my own imagination. Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental.

This tutorial was written assuming you have working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies needed

I am using PSP X4 but this tutorial should work with any version.

PTU Tube:  I am using the fantastic artwork of Michael Calandra.  Please do not use this artwork without a  proper license.   You can purchase this gorgeous tube at CDO here

PTU scrap kit:  I am using Inspired by Michael Calandra 20-3 by LadyHawwk LHD Scraps.  Thank you for creating this gorgeous kit.  You can purchase this kit at CDO here

Mask:  None

Plug ins:  Greg's factory output, pool shadow. (optional)

This tutorial was written using the supplies above.  If you are using a different tube or scrap kit you may need to make adjustments.  I am using a drop shadow of V/H 2 Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise state.

Open a new 600x250 transparent image.

Open paper 3, copy and paste as a new layer.

Open word art.  Copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer.  Select all, float, defloat, open your close up tube and move her face in the middle of the wordart.  Once happy with placement, selections invert and hit delete on your keyboard.  Select none.  Change the blend mode to luminance legacy and lower the opacity to 60%.  Merge down and resize 80%.

Open your main tube.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Image resize 80% and move to the left side of the tag.  Drop shadow.

Open element 2, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and move to the left side of the banner.  Move this under your tube layer.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open element 16, copy and close the original.  Select the wordart layer and paste.  Move to the bottom left side.  Duplicate and mirror.  See mine for placement.

Open element 17, copy and paste as a new layer.  Movet his layer close to the bottom and move this layer just above the word art layer.  Drop shadow.

Open element 4, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 60%.  Move to the right side.  The top of the book should almost line up with the edge of the word art.  Drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 7, copy and close the original.  Select your tube layer and paste as a new layer.  Move to the bottom right corner.  Drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 3, copy and  close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 60%.  Move to the bottom right side just in front of the left side of the globe.  Drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Select your top layer and add a new raster layer,  flood fill with color of choice.  I am using #131e20.  Select all, selections, modify, contract by 5 and hit delete on your keyboard.  Selections invert, effects, Greg's factory output, pool shadow, default settings.  Adjust, add remove noise, add noise, Gaussian 50% monochrome checked.  Drop shadow.  repeat drop shadow but change th e V/H to -2.  Move your tube layer above the border.

Duplicate and minimize for now.

Add your copyright and name.  Save as png and close.

Avatar

Maximize the duplicate and delete the border layer. Merge visible.  Select your crop tool and change the width and height to 150.  Move the crop box until you find a spot you like.  Hit enter or click the green check mark.  Repeat the steps for the border but change the contract to 3.  Add your copyright and name.  Save as png.

PTU: Sweet Angel

Supplies needed

I am using PSP X4 but this tutorial should work with any version.

PTU Tube:  I am using the gorgeous artwork of Rachel Anderson.  Please do not use her artwork without a  proper license. You can purchase this gorgeous tube at CDO here.  
PTU scrap kit:  I am using Inspired by Rachel Anderson 20-3 by Chichi Designz.  Thank you for creating this gorgeous kit.  You can purchase this at CDO here.

This tutorial was written using the supplies above.  If you are using a different tube or scrap kit you may need to make adjustments.  I am using a drop shadow of V/H 2 Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise state.

Open a new 850x310 transparent image.

Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 3, copy and close the original.  Add a new raster layer, select all, edit, paste into selections, select none. 

Open your close up tube and paste as a new layer.  Mirror and move to the right side of your timeline.  Drop shadow.

Select the paper layer.  Open unicorn and paste as a new layer.  Move this just behind your tube.  Drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open Sparkles, select the paper layer. copy and paste as a new layer.  Move to the far left, duplicate and mirror.

Open flowers, select the unicorn layer and paste as a new layer.  Move to the bottom left corner.  Drop shadow.   Duplicate and mirror.  Merge down.  See mine for placement.

Open leaves, Select the flowers layer, paste as a new layer and move in between the unicorn and tube.  Drop Shadow.  Duplicate and mirror move to the far left corner and move this layer under the flowers layer.

Open moon, select your paper layer.  Copy and paste as a new layer and resize 60%.  Move this to the upper left corner.  See mine for placement.

Open word art.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Move to the upper left corner and move this layer under the unicorn layer.  See mine for placement.

Merge visable and duplicate the timline, hold down the Shift + D. 

Minimize the copy as we will use these for the avitar.

Select the top layer and add a new raster layer.  Flood fill it with color or gradient of choice.  I am using an off white.  Select all, selections, modify, contract by 6 and hit delete on your keyboard.  Select none.  Adjust, add/removed noise, add noise Gaussian 100%, monochrome checked.  Add a drop shadow of V/H 1, opacity 100, blur 1, color #703a73.  Repeat but change the V/H to -1.

Duplicate, shift + D and minimize for now.

Add your copyright but leave off the url as it is not permitted on fb and name.  Save as png.

Maximize the duplicate without the frame.

Select your crop tool and set the height and width to 170.  Move the box until you find a spot you like.  Once happy with selection, hit delete on your keyboard.  Repeat the steps for the border but change the contract to 4.

Add your copyright and initial and save as png.

Banner

Maximize the timeline you duplicated earlier.  Image resize by pixels and change the width to 650 the height will adjust automatically.  Click ok.  Dulicate this as we will need it for the Avatar.  Add your copyright and name and save as png.

Maximize the final duplicate.

Select your crop tool.  Change the width and height to 150.  Move the crop box to a spot you like.  Once happy with selection, hit enter on your keyboard.  Repeat the steps for the border but change the contract to 3.  Add your name and copyright. Save as png.

PTU: Easter Bunny 2013

Plug ins: Mura Meister Cloud.

Mask:  WSL Mask 116 and mask 81.  You can get this at Weescotslass Creations here.  Thank you for creating the great masks.  Save to your mask file.

This tutorial was written using the supplies above.  If you are using a different tube or scrap kit you may need to make adjustments.  I am using a drop shadow of V/H 2 Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise state.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Flood fill with a nice blue.  I am using #a6d6d5.  Effects, Mura Meister cloud with these settings.  


Layers, load/save mask, load mask from disk and find WSL mask 116.  Load mask but to not merge group yet.  Open element 19, copy and paste as new layer,  Resize 60% and move close to the bottom.  Drop shadow.  Move this layer above raster 1, under the mask.  Open element 18, copy and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and move to the right side.  Move this layer under your fence layer.  Merge group.

Copy your tube and paste as a new layer.  Drop shadow.

Open element 17, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 30%.  Move this to the left side of the fence,  Duplicate and mirror.  Duplicate the mirrored one and move over to the right a bit.  Duplicate this one and mirror.

Open element 12, copy and paste as a new layer.  Resize 25% and move to the bottom left in front of the grass.  Drop shadow.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open element 20, copy and paste as a new layer.  Resize 25% and drop shadow.  Move to the bottom left beside the egg.  Move this layer under the egg layer.  See mine for placement.

Open element 21, copy and paste as a new layer.  Resize 25% and move to the bottom right in front of the egg.  Drop shadow.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open element 9, copy and paste as a new layer.  resize 25% and move to the upper left side of the tag.  See mine for placement.

Merge visable.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image. 

Open frame 1, copy and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%. Using your magic wand, click inside your frame.  Selections, modify, expand by 5.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with the blue you used earlier.  Apply Mura Meister Cloud with the same settings.  Keep selected.  Add a new raster layer.  Back to your original tag.  Copy and close the original.  We will not need it.  Back to your new image.  With your new layer selected, edit, paste into selection.  Select none.  Drop shadow the frame.  Merge down the frame, tag and blue background.  Resize 80%.

Open element 13, copy and paste as a new layer.  Image, flip, resize 90% and move the bow to the top middle of the frame.  Drop shadow.

Open element 3, copy and paste as a new layer.  Move this layer under your frame and move to the far right. Drop Shadow.   See mine for placement.  Duplicate, flip, merge down, duplicate and mirror.

Open Word art 2, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 80%.  Drop shadow.  Move this to the bottom of your frame.  See mine for placement.

Open your tube, copy and paste as a new layer.  Mirror and drop shadow.  Move to the left side of your frame.  Her leg should be between the E and A of the word art.  Move this layer above the word art if it is not already.

Open element 21, copy and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, Mirror and drop shadow.  Move this in front of your tubes foot.  See mine for placement.

Open element 12, copy and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40% and drop shadow.  Move this under your word art layer and behind the E.  See mine for placement.

Open element 21 again, paste as a new layer and resize 70%.  Move this under your word art layer.  It should be placed behind the R.  See mine for placement.

Select raster 1, copy and paste paper of choice.  I am using paper 6.  Layers, load/save mask, load mask from disk and find WSL mask 81.  Apply your mask and merge group.  Move your mask to the upper left corner.  Duplicate and mirror.  Merge down.  Duplicate and flip.

Add your copyright and name.  Save as png and were done.

Plug ins: AAA Frames, foto frame

This tutorial was written using the supplies above.  If you are using a different tube or scrap kit you may need to make adjustments.  I am using a drop shadow of V/H 2 Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise state.

Open a new 600x250 transparent image.

Copy and paste paper of choice.  I am using paper 2, copy and paste as a new layer. 

Add a new raster layer and select all.  Open element 1, copy and close the original.  Edit, paste into selection.  Select none and drop shadow.

Open your main tube and paste as a new layer.  Move into the right frame of the window.  Duplicate and mirror.  On the duplicate, change your blend mode to hard light.  Back to the original tube.  Drop shadow.

Open Element 18, copy and close the original.  Select your window layer and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40% and move to the left bottom corner.  Drop shadow.

Open element 10, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 60%.  Move to the right bottom corner. (see mine for placement). Drop shadow. Duplicate and mirror.  Move the duplicate up a little.

Open element 2, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 40% and move to the lower right corner.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 9, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer, resize 25% and move to the bottom right corner. Drop Shadow.  Duplicate and move the duplicate slightly to the left and down a bit.  See mine for placement.

Open word art, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 40%.  Move to the bottom center of your banner and drop shadow.

Open element 23, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 40%.  Move this under your word art and drop shadow.

Add any other elements you like.  Once happy with your banner, merge visible.

Effect, AAA Frames, foto frame and change the drop down from default to white.  change the width to 5 and click ok.  Using your magic wand, click inside the white part of the frame.  Adjust, add/remove noise, add noise, Gaussian, 100%, monochrome checked.

 Shift + D to duplicate it.  Add your name and copyright on the duplicate.   Save your duplicate as png and your done with the banner.  

Avatar

Back to the original.  Hit ctrl + Z x4 to remove the border. 

Select your crop tool and change your height and width to 150.  Move the crop box until you find a spot you like.  Hit enter on your keyboard.  Apply the AAA Foto Frame with the same settings as for the banner.  Repeat the steps for the noise.  Add your copyright and initial or name.  Save as png and your done.

PTU: Smell the roses

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Open element 10, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer.  Using your magic wand, click inside each opening of the window.  Selections, modify, expand the 2.  Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 2, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer.  Selections, invert and hit delete on your keyboard.  Select none and drop shadow the window.

Copy tube of choice.  I am using the one without the wings.  Paste as a new layer and resize 90%.  Drop shadow.

Open element 22, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 70%, move to the right side of your tag.  The branch should be touching the bottom of the window.  Drop shadow.  Duplicate and mirror.  Move the duplicate layer under your tube.

Open element 9, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 50%  Move to the bottom of your tube.  Using your eraser tool, carefully erase the ends of the lace so it is even with the window.

Open element 25, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 70%.  Move to the bottom of your tag and mirror.  Drop shadow.

Open element 16, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 60%.  Image free rotate 25 degrees to the right.  Move to the bottom right corner and move this layer under your ribbon.  Drop shadow.

Open element 26, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 30%.  Move to the bottom left corner, duplicate and mirror.  Move the duplicate layer under your violin layer.

Open element 2, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 30%.  Move to the right top corner and drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Select raster 1, open element 15, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 60%.  Move this layer to the top of the window.  Duplicate and flip.  Duplicate and move this layer up to the top just under the original layer.  Duplicate and flip.  Merge down all 4 layers and drop shadow but change the color to white.

Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 5.  Copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer.  Edit, Copy special, copy merged.

Open Frame 2, shift + D to duplicate it and close the original.  Add a new raster layer.  Click inside your frame using the magic wand.  Selection, modify, expand by 6.  Select your new layer and edit, paste into selections.  Select none.  Add a drop shadow to the frame and merge visable.  Image resize 40%.  Copy and close.  Do not save.

Back to your tag, paste as a new layer.  Image, free rotate, 25% to the left.  Move this layer just above the window layer.  Move to the left bottom of your tag.  Duplicate and mirror.  See mine for placement.

Select raster 1, Open paper of choice,   I am using paper 1, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and then Layers, load/save mask, load mask from disk.  Find mask 222 and apply it.  Merge group.

Add your name and copyright and save as png.

Mask: DD Mask 2.  Created by Dee's sign depot.  Thank you so much for these great St. Patrick's day masks.  You can get it from her blog here

Open a new  600x600 transparent image.

Open element 4, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and drop shadow.  Duplicate x2.  Select the first copy.  Image free rotate to the left 25 degrees all layer NOT checked.  Select the 2nd copy and repeat free rotate but change it to the right.  Arrange so it looks like a little bush.

Open your tube, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 80% and drop shadow.  Move to the middle of your tag.

Open element 2, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 50%, move to the bottom left of your tube.  Drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 8, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 60%.  Move this layer under your tube layer.  See mine for placement.

Open element 5, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 40%.  Move to the right middle of the tube.  See mine for placement.  Move this layer under your tube layer and drop shadow.

Open element 3, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 40%.  Move this to the bottom of your tube and drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 17, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 40%.  Move this to the left of the bear and move this layer under the bear layer.  Drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 20, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 40%  Move this to the right of your tube.  Move this layer under your tube layer.  Drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 7, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%.

Select raster 1.  Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 4, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer.  Layers, load/save mask, load mask from disk and find DD SPD Mask 2.  Apply your mask and merge group. 

Add your copyright and name.  Save as png and your done.

PTU Mermaid Dreams

Open a new 600x250 transparent image.

Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 6, copy and paste as a new layer.  I moved mine up a bit.

Copy your tube and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and move to the right side of your banner.  See mine for placement.  drop shadow.

Open element 2, copy and paste as a new layer.  Move to the left side and move up.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 11, copy and paste as a new layer.  Mirror.  Move this layer above your paper layer.

Open element 24, copy and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40% and using your deform tool tilt it a bit to the left.  Move this under the lighthouse layer on the left side of your banner.  See mine for placement.

Select your paper layer.  Open element 15 and paste as a new layer.

Open your second tube. (the one that is on Raster 1) copy and paste as a new layer.  Move this layer above your paper layer and change the blend mode to overlay or a blend you like best.

Merge visible.  select your crop tool and click on merge opaque. 

Click the green check mark or hit enter on your keyboard.

Effects, AAA frames, foto frame.  Clicked on the drop down where it said default and chose teal for a setting. 

Shift + D to duplicate you banner as we need it for the Avatar.

Add your name and copyright to the original and save as png.

Avatar

Maximize your duplicate banner.  Select your crop tool and change the width and height to 150.  Click the green check mark or hit enter on the keyboard.  Apply AAA Frame, foto frame with the same settings.

Add your copyright and initial and save as png.
