Masquerade Party

This tutorial was written by me on November 28, 2013 and are the result of my own imagination. Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental.  Please DO NOT claim this tutorial as your own.

This tutorial was written assuming you have working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies needed

I am using PSP X4 but this tutorial should work with any version.

Animation shop (optional)

PTU Tube:  I am using Bat by Alex Prihodko.  Please do not use this artwork without a  proper license.  You can purchase it at PFD here.  

FTU scrap kit: I am using Masquerade Ball by Gimptastic Scraps. Thank you for this awesome kit.  You can get it here

Mask: WSL Mask 59.  You can get it at Weescotslass creations here. Thank you for creating this awesome mask.

Plug In:  Xenofex 2, constellation.

This tutorial was written using the supplies above.  If you are using a different tube or scrap kit you may need to make adjustments.  I am using a drop shadow of V/H 2 Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise state.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Open frame 4, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 80% all layers not checked.

Using your magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections, modify, expand by 3.  Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 9, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer.  Selections, invert and hit delete on your keyboard.  Select none.  Move the paper layer under the frame and drop shadow the frame.

copy your tube and paste.  Resize 40% and move up slightly.  We will cover up the bottom portion of the tube.

Open deco 2, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer.  Image, free rotate to the right 90 degrees.  All layers not checked.  Move to the bottom center of the tag.  Drop shadow.

Open deco 1, copy and close the original.  Select the tube layer and paste.  Move down to the bottom.  One leaf should be under the flower.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open beads, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the top of the frame.

Open harp, copy and close the original.  select the bead layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move to the upper right corner.  The top of the harp should cover the bead end.  See mine for placement.

Open Violin, copy and close the original.  Select the top deco 1 layer and paste.  Move to the bottom left.  Using your deform tool, tilt it slightly to the left.

Open mask 2, copy and close the original.  Select the violin layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the bottom center.  See mine for placement.

Open hearts, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the top left corner.

Open ring 2, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom left corner.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open frame 1, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  If you are going to animate, duplicate x2 and rename them sparkle 1, sparkle 2 and sparkle 3.

Open flower 2, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Move to the bottom left corner.

Open candelabra. copy and close the original.  Select the harp layer and paste.  Move up and to the left slightly.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.  Duplicate and mirror.  Move slightly to the left so the stand is behind the tube.

Open feather, copy and close the original.  Select the top frame layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move to the upper right corner.  See mine for placement.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open gift 1, copy and close the original.  Select the violin layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom left between the violin and mask.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open frame 6, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.

Open disco ball, copy and close the original.  Select the bead layer and paste.  Move to the bottom right.  See mine for placement.

Open paper of choice,  I am using paper 1, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Apply mask and merge group.  Resize 105% all layers not checked.

Add your copyright and name.  If you are not going to animate, save as png.

Animation

Select raster 1 and flood fill it white.

Select your tube layer.  Using your free hand tool, draw around her glitter on the top of the dress.  Promote selection to layer.  Select none Duplicate x2.  Rename dress 1, 2 and 3.  

Close off sparkle 2 & 3 and dress 2 and 3.

Select sparkle 1 layer and apply constellation with the following settings:


Select dress layer 1 and apply the same settings.

Edit copy special, copy merged and paste into animation as a new  layer (ctrl+v)

Back to psp.  Close off sparkle 1 and dress 1. Open sparkle 2 and dress 2.  Select sparkle 2 and apply constellation but hit random seed.  Apply same settings to dress 2.  Edit copy special, copy merged and paste into animation shop (ctrl+shift+L).

Repeat the above process for sparkle 3 and dress 3.

In animation shop, select all, frame properties, change the display time to 15.  View your animation.  If happy with the animation, save as gift.
