PTU: Super Star Dreams

This tutorial was written by me on June 4, 2016. The results are of my own imagination.  Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental.

Please DO NOT claim this tutorial as your own.

This was written assuming you have working knowledge of PSP.

Please keep in mind that I write the tutorial as I am creating it.

Sometimes I may not explain properly where to place things so please see my example if you are ever in doubt :)

Supplies needed

I am using PSP X8 but this tutorial should work with any version.

PTU Tube:  I am using a gorgeous tube created by Arthur Crowe called "Dance Queen".  Please do not use this tubes without a proper licence.  You can purchase this tube at Arthur's store here.

PTU Kit:  I am using a gorgeous kit called "Super Star" created by Abstract Creations.   This gorgeous kit has 50 elements and 10 papers.  You can purchase this at Abstract's Store here.

Mask:  Vix big mask 1.  You can download it from Vix's blog here.

Font of choice for your name.

Plug in: None

I am using a drop shadow (D/S) of V/H 2, Opacity 50, blur 5, color black throughout the tutorial unless otherwise stated.

Let's get started.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Copy your tube and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% all layers not checked, adjust, sharpness, sharpen.  D/S.

Open element 46, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Resize 70%.  Using your magic wand, (settings are Mode, add shift, Match mode, RGB Value, Tolerance and Feather set to 0, Contiguous and Anti-alias checked).  Click inside each frame of the film strip.  Selections, modify, expand by 2.

Back to your Tube (Arthur's)  Image mirror and copy.  If you are using any of the tattoos make sure to mirror those also.

Back to your tag.  Select raster 1 and paste as a new layer.  Using your move tool, move the tube into a spot you like best inside the film stip.  Once happy with placement, Selections, invert and hit delete on your keyboard.  Do not deselect.

Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 6, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Hit delete on your keyboard.  Select none.  Chane the blend mode to hard light or a blend you like.  D/S the frame.

Open element 47, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Free rotate to the left 90 degrees, and resize 60%.  Move to the far left so you see Now showing just past your film strip.

Open element 22, copy and close the original.  Select the now showing layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the upper right so the two left points are under the tube.  D/S

Open element 3, copy and close the original.  Select the film strip layer and paste.  Resize 30% and again by 70%.  Move to the left side of the film strip.  The bottom should just meet the 1st opening on the film strip.  D/S, duplicate and move to the bottom so it covers the bottom of the film strip.

Open element 39, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.   Move down so the bottom of the feathers touch the ankles.  Duplicate and move up slightly and over to the left.  You should see a bit of the feather coming out from the top left of the film strip.

Open element 1, copy and close the original.  Select the star layer and paste.  Resize 30% and mirror.  Move to the top of the Now showing so it looks like the legs are coming out from behind the film strip.  D/S

Open element 4, copy and close the original.  Select the film strip layer and paste.  Resize 30% and move to the bottom center of the film strip.  D/S

Open element 26, copy and close the original.  Select the legs layer and paste.  Resize 60% and mirror.  Move down so the tire lines up with the tubes left foot.  D/S

Open element 96, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Resize 75%.

Open element 27, copy and close the original.  Select the legs layer and paste.  Resize 30% and move to the far right of the car so it is behind the front fender and hood.  D/S

Open element 37, copy and close the original.  Select the star layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the center of the star.  D/S, duplicate, flip and mirror.  Move down slightly so you see the gold rose from under the film reels.

Open element 41,  copy and close the original.  Select the star layer and paste.  Resize 30% and move to the right so it covers the bottom of the star.

Open element 50, copy and close the original.  Select the clapper layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom left so it is behind the tube and just in front of the clapper board.  D/S

Open element 44, copy and close the original.  Select the to layer and paste.  Resize 30% and move to the bottom left so it is just in front of the bottom film reel.  D/S

Open Paper of choice.  I am using two papers.  Paper 3 and Paper 5,  Copy paper 5 and select raster 1 paste and apply Vix Big mask 1 Copy paper 3 and paste this just above paper 5 and change the blend mode to luminance (L) and merge group.

Add any other elements you like.

Add your copyright and name.

Save as png.

Hugs,

Gwils
