PTU: All In A Dream

This tutorial was written by me on May 30, 2016. The results are of my own imagination.  Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental.

Please DO NOT claim this tutorial as your own.

This was written assuming you have working knowledge of PSP.

Please keep in mind that I write the tutorial as I am creating it.

Sometimes I may not explain properly where to place things so please see my example if you are ever in doubt :)

Supplies needed

I am using PSP X8 but this tutorial should work with any version.

Animation Shop (optional)

PTU Tube:  I am using an awesome tube called "Dreams" created by VeryMany.  Please do not use these tubes without a proper licence.  You can purchase VeryMany's tubes here

PTU Kit:  I am using a beautiful matching scrapkit called "Memory of Dreams" by Pink Paradox Productions.  You can purchase this gorgeous kit here

Mask:  WSL Mask 255 created by WeeScotsLass Creations.  You can download it from her blog here.

FTU Animation:  SimoneAni 291.  You can download it at Scrappy bit of Fun here.  Thank you so much for the awesome animation.

Font of choice for you name.

Plug Ins:  EyeCandy 4000, Gradient Glow

I am using a drop shadow (D/S) of V/H 2, Opacity 50, blur 5, color black throughout the tutorial unless otherwise stated.

Let's get started.

Open a new 650x650 transparent image.

Copy your main tube and paste.  Resize 40% all layers not checked.  (You might just see her toes on the right side.  Just select your move tool and bring her to the bottom center).  D/S

Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 33, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Apply WSL mask 255 Do not merge group yet.

Open element 165, copy and close the original.  Select the paper layer, under the mask layer, and paste.  Resize 80%.

Open element 169, copy and close the original.  Select the paper layer and paste.  Resize 70%.  If you do not like the position of the sparkles, just move the sparkle layer above the mask and then you can move this layer around.  I moved mine to the left.  after placing it in a spot you like, move this layer just above the paper layer again.  Merge group.

Open element 81, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the upper right corner of the mask.

Open element 159, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Resize 50% and mirror.  Move to the upper right corner of the mask just under the moon.  Be careful not to go outside your canvas.

Open element 149, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 50% and move to the bottom center.  Apply Eyecandy 4000, Gradient glow, Basic tab change the size to 5, color tab I used color #c7b2c5, click ok.  If you do not have gradient glow you can play with your drop shadow using the same color.  Remember if you use drop shadow to apply it a second time and change the V/H to a minus and the number you used.

Open element 147, copy and close the original.  Select the moon layer and paste.  Resize 45% and move to the far right so it is in behind your tube.

Open element 141, copy and close the original.  Select the tree layer and paste.  Resize 25% and mirror.  Move to the lower right corner so the bottom of the mushrooms line up to the bottom of To Us in the word art.  D/S

Open element 117, copy and close the original.  Select the tube layer and paste.  Resize 25% and D/S.  Move to the bottom right.  It should line up with the bottom of the word art and you should see the stem between the to and us in the word art.  Duplicate and move this layer under the mushroom layer and move up and to the right.

Open element 123, copy and close the original.  Select your tube layer and paste.  Resize 40% and D/S.  Move to the bottom right.
Open element  83, copy and close the original.  Select the mushroom layer and paste  Resize 40% and mirror.  Move to the lower left corner.  D/S

Open element 75, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the bottom so it is sitting under the word art.  Duplicate this layer and move up slightly.

Open element 5, copy and close the original.  Select the tube layer and paste.  Resize 30% and move down and to the right so the cat is just in front of the tubes elbow.  D/S

Open element 32, copy and close the original.  Select the tube layer and paste.  Resize 20% and move to the lower left corner.  D/S

Open element 12, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 20% and D/S.  Move to the lower right corner just above the Us in the word art.  Duplicate and mirror.  Duplicate this layer and resize 80% and move it to the left side of the tree.

Add any other elements you wish.

Image resize 600 pixels, all layers checked.

Add your copyright and name.

If you do not want to animate, save as png.

Animation.

Open SimoneAni 291 in animation shop.

Animation, Resize animation by 90%.

Back to PSP.

Select raster 1 and flood fill with white.

Hide all layers from the tube layer and up.  Click on the eye on each layer.

Edit, Copy special, copy merged.

Back to Animation Shop.

Edit, paste as new animation, (ctrl + V)

Now we need 16 frames to match Simone's animation.

Holding down the ctrl + shift tap the L on your keyboard 15 times.  You should now have 16 frames.  The count is on the lower right of animation shop.

Select all (ctrl + a)

Back to Simone's animation,  Select all (ctrl + A) and copy (ctrl + C).

Back to the background of your tag you just pasted.

We need to paste the animation into the background.  Edit, paste into selected frames (ctrl + e).

It will be handing off of your pointer.  Move it into a spot you like.  I moved it into the center of the pond where the water ring is.  Left click the mouse.  If you are not happy with the placement of the animation, just hit ctrl + z and repeat the ctrl + e.

Back to psp.

Go to layers, view, all.

Now hide all your layers from the pond down by clicking on the eye of each layer.

Select all, (this is important as you want it the same size as the background, Edit, copy special, copy merged.

Back to Animation shop.

Edit, paste as new animation, (ctrl + V)

Now we need 16 frames to match the background animation.

Holding down the ctrl + shift tap the L on your keyboard 15 times.  You should now have 16 frames.  The count is on the lower right of animation shop.

Select all (ctrl + A) and copy (ctrl + C).

Back to the background of your tag.  Select all, (ctrl + A)

Paste into selected frames (same as what we did with Simone's animation) Ctrl + E

It will be handing off of your pointer.  Move it into position.  It should be in the same place as you have it in psp.  Left click the mouse.  If you are not happy with the placement of the animation, just hit ctrl + z and repeat the ctrl + e.

Save as gif.

A box will pop up.  Just click next, next and next.

I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial.  I would love to see your results.

Hugs,

Gwils
