PTU: Mardi Gras 2015

This tutorial was written by me on January 27, 2015 and are the results of my own imagination.  Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental.

This was written assuming you have working knowledge of PSP.

Please keep in mind that I write the tutorial as I am creating it.

Supplies needed.

I am using PSP X4 but this tutorial should work with any version.

PTU Tube:  I am using the gorgous artwork of Spazzd Art.   The tube I am using is called Cheri.   Please do not use this tube without a proper licence.  You can purchase this beauty at Spazzd Art here.  

PTU Kit:  I am using an awesome kit called Mardi Gras 2015 by Mellie Beans.  You can purchase this gorgeous kit at PFD here.

Mask:  WSL Mask 289.  You can download it from Weescotslass's blog here.

Font: Of your choice

Plug ins:  eye Candy 4, Gradient glow

I am using a drop shadow of V/H 3, Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise stated.

Let's get started.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Open element 35, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 50%.  Using your magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections, modify, expand by 10.  Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 9, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and add a new layer.  Edit, paste into selections.  Keep selected.  Copy your tube and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and move your tube down so her face shows in the frame.  Selections, invert and hit delete on your keyboard.  Select none.  Change the blend mode to soft light.  Drop shadow the frame.  Hide raster 1 and merge visible.  Image, free rotate, to the right 20 degrees.  All layers not checked.

Open element 2, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 70% and move to the bottom right.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Copy the tube, select the top layer and paste.  Resize 18% and mirror.  Move to the left side.  Drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 3, copy and  close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move to the left side just behind the tube layer.  Drop shadow.

Open element 9, copy and close the original.  Select element 3 layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move slightly to the left.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 28, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Move to the bottom left corner.  See mine for placement.

Open element 19, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Move to the upper left corner.  See mine for placement.

Open element 1 copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Move to the bottom right corner.  see mine for placement.

Open element 20, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 60% and drop shadow.  Move to the right side of the frame.  Repeat for elements 21 and 22 but stager them so the look like a balloon bunch.  See mine for placement.

Open element 33, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom left so the horn covers the feet of the tube.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 34, copy and close the original.  Select the top notes layer and paste.  Resize 30% and move to the bottom right of the frame.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 36, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Resize 70% and move to the bottom right corner.  Duplicate and flip.

Open element 32, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom left corner of the frame.  Drop shadow.

Open word art, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 50% and apply Gradient glow color #fffabd Glow width 5, everything else at default.  Move to the bottom right.

Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 3, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1, select all and edit, paste into selections.  Select none.  Apply WSL Mask 289 and merge group.

Add your copyright and name.

Save as png.

PTU: Natural Beauty

Let's get started.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Copy your tube and paste as a new layer. Drop shadow.

Open floral frame, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Resize 23%.  Using your magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections, modify, expand by 5.  Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 3, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and add a new layer.  Edit, paste into selections.  Select none and drop shadow the frame.

Open Flowering bush, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 23% and move to the bottom left corner.  Duplicate and mirror.  Move down slightly.  See mine for placement.

Open fern, copy and close the original.  Select the top bush layer and paste.  Resize 25%.  Drop shadow.  Duplicate and bring this layer to the top.  Resize 50% and move to the bottom left corner of the tube.  Duplicate and mirror.  See mine for placement.

Open Greenery Cluster, copy and close the original.  select the top layer and paste.  Resize 20% and move to the bottom center.  Drop shadow.  See mien for placement.

Open mushroom 2, copy and close the original.  Select the tube layer and paste.  Resize 15% and move to the bottom left so it peaks out from behind the fern.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open Lantern Tree, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 30% and move to the left side.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open bird, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 15% and again by 80%.  Move the bird so it looks like it is sitting on the left mushroom.  Drop shadow.

Open twig,  Copy and close the original.  Select the top left fern layer and paste.  Resize 20% and move to the bottom left so it covers the stem of the fern.  Duplicate and move to the right.  See mine for placement.

Open sparkles.  Copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 25%.

Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 8, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1, select all, edit paste into selections.  Select none.  Apply WSL mask 297 and merge group.

Add your copyright and name.

Save as png.

PTU: Valerie

Mask:  WSL Mask 254.  You can download it from her blog here.  Thank you for the awesome masks.  Open the mask in psp and minimize.

Font: Abrazo Script SSK

I am using a drop shadow of V/H 3, Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise stated.

Let's get started.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Open paper 3, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer.  Layers, new mask layer, load/save mask, load mask from disk.  Find WSL mask 254, source luminance checked and invert mask checked.  No Not Merge yet.  Copy the tube and paste just above the Paper layer.  Resize 50% and move to a spot you like.  Once happy with  placement move the tube under the mask layer.  Merge group.

Open element 02, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Image flip and move down to the bottom right. Drop shadow.

Open and copy your tube,  Paste as a new layer and resize 15%.  Move to the left side.  Drop shadow.

Open element 54, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move in the center of the arch.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 62, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the bottom right.  Drop shadow.  See mien for  placement.

Open element 58, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Image mirror and move to the bottom left.  Drop shadow.  See mine  for placement.

Open element 64, copy and close the original.  Select the sparkle doodle layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move ot the bottom left.  See mine for placement.

Open element 24, copy and close the original.  Select the ribbon layer and paste.  Move tot he bottom center and drop shadow.

Open element 56, copy and close the original.  Select the glitter doodle layer and paste.  Image, free rotate to the left 90 degrees all layers not selected.  Image resize 80% and move to the top left.  Drop shadow.

Open element 45, copy and close the original.  Select the cloud layer and paste.  Mirror and move to the bottom.   Drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 31, copy and close the original.  Select the tree layer and paste.  Move to the left middle so it is peaking out from behind your tube.  Drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 7, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and move to the upper left.  Duplicate and flip.  See mine for placement.

Add your copyright and name.  Save as png.

PTU: Waiting for Spring FB Timeline

Mask::  None

Font: Fairy Dust

Plug ins:  Mura Meister Cloud, AAA frames, foto frame.

I am using a drop shadow of V/H 3, Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise stated.

Let's get started.

Open a new 815x300 transparent image.

Select all and add a new raster layer.

Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 10.  Copy and edit, paste into selection.  

Effects, mura meister, cloud.  Using default settings but change the light to white, FG #6acbef, BG White click ok.  Select none.

Copy your tube and paste as a new layer.  If you are using the same tube as I am, mirror and move to the left side.  Change your blend mode to luminance legacy and lower the opacity to 50.

Paste your tube again. Resize 40% and move to the right side and drop shadow.

Open element 32, copy and close the original.  Select the paper layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the upper right side.  Duplicate and move to the left slightly and down.  See mine for placement.

Open element 39, copy and close the original.  Select the paper layer and paste.  Move to the right side.  See mine for placement.

Open element 38, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 20%,  Image, free rotate to the left 20 degrees.  Move to the upper right.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 27, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom left corner.  Drop shadow.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open element 14, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom left so it overlaps the first flower.  Drop shadow, duplicate and mirror.

Open element 13, copy and close the original.  Select the close up layer and paste.  Move to the bottom and to the left slightly.  Drop shadow.

Open element 18, copy and close the original.  Select the vine layer and paste.  Resize 20% and move to the bottom right so it is peaking out from the tube knees.  Drop shadow.

Open element 40, copy and close the original.  Select the nest layer and paste.  Resize 20% and move down so it is sitting on the left side of the nest.  Drop shadow.

Open element 34, copy and close the original.  Select the left rose layer and paste.  Resize 20% and mirror.  Move this so it is peaking out from behind the flowers.  Drop shadow.

Open element 25, copy and close the original.  Select the bird layer and paste.  Move it to your liking.

Open element 29, copy and close the original.  Select the vine layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom center.  Drop shadow.

Add any other elements you like.

Merge visible.

Shift + D to duplicate as we will use this for the avatar.  Minimize for now.

Back to the original.  Effects, AAA frames, foto frames default settings but change the width to 5.  click ok.

Select all, modify, select selections boarder Width 5, both sides selected anti-alias checked.  Click ok.

Adjust, add remove noise, add noise, Gaussian selected, noise 75 monochrome checked.  click ok.  Select none.

Add your copyright and name.  Save as png. Remember not to add the url as it is against Facebook's TOUs.

Close the banner.  Maximize the duplicate banner.

Resize 70% and then crop to a width and height of 180.  Move the crop box to a spot you like best and hit the green check mark or hit enter on the keyboard. 

Repeat the steps for the frame but change the width to 3.  Add your copyright and name.

Save as png.

Open element 61, copy and close the original.  Select the arch layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the inside bottom right of the arch.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 14, copy and close the original.  Select the arch layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the left.  The bottom should line up with the outer edge of the arch.  Drop shadow.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open element 22, copy and close the original.  Select the ivy layer and paste.  Resize 20% and move to the top right of the cage.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 23, copy and close the original.  Select the butterfly layer and paste.  Resize 20% and move to the bottom left.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 48, copy and close the original.  Select the bottom branch layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom right.  See mine for  placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 46, copy and close the original.  Select the cage layer and paste.  Resize 30% and move to the bottom middle.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 43, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Resize 70%, duplicate, mirror and flip.

Open element 17, copy and close the original.  Select the arch layer and paste.  Resize 30% and move to the top middle of the arch.  Drop shadow.

Open element 38, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 20% and move to the bottom left so it covers her shoe.  See mine for  placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 39, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 20% and move to the bottom left so it covers the stem of the branch. Drop shadow.  Duplicate the branch and mirror.  Move to the left so it looks like it is on either side of the rose.  Back to the rose layer.  Duplicate and resize 80% move to the left of the rose.  Duplicate the resized rose and move to the right.  See mine for placement.  Duplicate again and resize 80% and move to the bottom center of the rose.  See mine for placement.

Open element 62, copy and close the original.  Select the top scattered leaf layer (above the mask layer) and paste.  Resize 70% and mirror.

Open element 30, copy and close the original.  select the bottom rose layer and paste.  Resize 20% and move to the bottom left so it looks like it is sitting in the roses.  Drop shadow.

Add your copyright and name.  Save as png.

I am using a drop shadow of V/H 3, Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise stated.

Let's get started.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 12, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer.  Layers, new mask layer, from image and find Trese Mask 0541 Source Luminance selected and invert mask data checked.  click ok, merge group.

Open image 43, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Using your magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections, modify, expand by 5,  Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 17, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer.  Selections, invert and hit delete on your keyboard.  Select none.  Move the paper layer under the frame and drop shadow the frame.

Open your tube, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 25% all layers not checked and drop shadow.

Open element 98, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the bottom middle.  Drop shadow.

Open element 90, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 30% and move to the bottom left so it is peaking out from behind the tube and hearts.  Drop shadow, duplicate and mirror.

Open element 107, copy and close the original.  Select the top rose layer and paste.  Resize 20% and move to the upper right side of the frame.  see mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 112, copy and close the original.  Select the bottom rose layer and paste.  Resize 80% and drop shadow.  Move to the bottom center.  See mine for placement.

Open element 9, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom left.  Image, free rotate to the left 20 degrees.  See mine for placement.

Open element 7, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the right side.  See mine for placement.  Using your magic wand, click inside both openings.  Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 5, copy and close the original.  Select the layer under the jean frame and paste.  Selections, invert and hit delete on the keyboard.  Do not deselect.  Copy your tube again and paste as a new layer.  Resize 15% and move under the jean frame.  Once happy with placement, hit delete on the keyboard.  Select none.  Change the blend mode of the tube to luminance legacy and lower the opacity to 40%.  Drop shadow the frame.

Open element 67, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Duplicate and merge down.

Open element 51, copy and close the original.  Select the circle frame layer and paste.  Resize 25% and move to the left so it looks like it is sticking out of the pocket.  Drop shadow.

Open element 56, copy and close the original.  Select the tube layer and paste.  Resize 30% and move to the bottom right so it is sticking out from behind the heart.  Drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 8, copy and close the original.  Select the Jean frame and paste.  Resize 30% and move to the bottom left.  Duplicate and move up and to the right slightly.  See mine for placement.  Merge down.  duplicate and mirror.

Add your copyright and name.  Save as png.

Open element 25, copy and close the original.  Select the tube layer and paste.  Resize 30% and move to the bottom left so it is peaking out from behind the red rose.  Duplicate and mirror.  See mine for placement.

Open element 21, copy and close the original.  select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 50% and move to the right.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 32, copy and close the original.   Select the tube layer and paste.  Resize 50% and move to the bottom left.  Duplicate and mirror.  See mine for placement.

Open element 30, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Resize 85%.

Open element 7, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  resize 50% and move to the left middle.  See mine for placement.

Open element 31, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Move to the upper right,  Drop shadow.  Duplicate and mirror.  See mine for placement.

Open element 33, copy adn close the original.  Select the tube layer and paste.  Resize 30% and move to the bottom right of the skull.  Duplicate and mirror.  See mine for placement.

Open element 29, copy and close the original.  Select the top branch layer and paste.  Resize 70%.

Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 4, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste. 

Apply WSL Mask 84 and merge group.  Image, resize 105% all layers not checked.  Repeat.

PTU: Angels watching

This tutorial was written by me on January 11, 2015 and are the results of my own imagination.  Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental.

This was written assuming you have working knowledge of PSP.

Please keep in mind that I write the tutorial as I am creating it.

Supplies needed

I am using PSP X4 but this tutorial should work with any version.

PTU Tube:  I am using a gorgous tube called Kailey created by SpazzdArt.  Please do not use her tubes without a proper licence.  You can purchase this beauty at her store here

PTU Kit:  I am using the matching kit called Kailey by Whisper In The Wind.  You can purchase this gorgous kit at Spazzd Art here

Mask:  WSL Mask 117.  You can download it from Weescotslass's blog here.

Font: Art Heart

I am using a drop shadow of V/H 3, Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise stated.

Let's get started.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Open Kailey and copy.  Paste as a new layer and resize 15% and again by 90% and drop shadow.  Move her down and to the right.

Open element 89, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the right.  Drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 48, copy and close the original.  Select the harp layer and paste.  Resize 60% and Image, free rotate 15 degrees to the left.  Move the frame to the upper left.  See mine for placement.

Still using element 48, Using your magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections, modify, expand by 2.  Select your harp layer and open paper of choice.  I am using paper 9.  Paste as a new layer.  Selections, invert and hit delete on your keyboard.  Do not deselect.

Open and copy your tube.  Standing on the paper layer, paste.  Resize 30% and move her down until you see her face in the frame.  Hit delete on your keyboard.  Do not deselect.  Change the blend mode of this tube to Luminance Legacy and lower the opacity to 50%.

Open element 100, copy and close the original.  Select the tube layer and paste.  Move the sparkles around until you find a spot you like best.  Hit delete on your keyboard and select none.

Drop shadow the frame.

Open element 25, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 20% and move to the bottom left.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow, duplicate and mirror.  Move down slightly.

Open element 95, copy and close the original.  Select the top rose layer and paste.  Resize 50% and move to the bottom left so it is covering the bottom of the frame.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 79, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 35% and mirror.  Drop shadow and move to the bottom right.  See mine for placement.

Open element 71, copy and close the original.  Select the harp layer and paste.  Resize 30% and move to the upper left corner behind the frame.  Duplicate and move it so it is peaking out from the top right of the frame.  See mine for placement.

Open element 82, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Resize 70% and move to the upper middle.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 46, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 15% and move to the top left.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Ope element 72, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 20% and move to the bottom left in front of the rose.  Drop shadow.

Open paper 6, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Apply WSL Mask 117 and merge group.  Hide your mask layer.

Merge visable and resize 90% all layers not checked.  Unhide the mask.

Add your copyright and name.  Save as png.

PTU: I love Coffee

Supplies needed

PTU Kit:  I am using In my Coffee Love by Mellie Beans.  You can purchase this gorgeous kit at PFD here.

I am using a drop shadow of V/H 3, Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise stated.

Let's get started.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Open element 17, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer.  Using your magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections, modify, expand by 5.  Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 1, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer.  Selections, invert, and standing on the paper layer, hit delete on your keyboard.  Select none.  Move the paper under the frame layer.  Drop shadow the frame.

Open your tube, copy and close the original.  select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40% and drop shadow.

Open element 35, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 50% and again by 80% move to the bottom left and drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 36, copy and close the  original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move to the bottom right.  See mine for placement.  duplicate and move this layer to the mid-upper left and move this layer under the frame layer.  See mine for placement.

Open element 14, copy and close the original.  Select the layer under your tube.  Paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom left so it is peaking out from on top of the books.  Drop Shadow.  Duplicate and mirror.  Move this down slightly.  See mine for placement.

Open element 5, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move to the left side of the frame.  See mine for placement.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open element 9, copy and close the original.  select the book layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom of the books by her knee.  see mine for placement.

Open element 08, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom right so it is in front of her slippers..  Drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 27, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the bottom mid-left and drop shadow.  see mine for placement.

Open element 23, copy and close the original.  Select the top leaf layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move down slighly.  See mine for placement Drop shadow.

Open element 34, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 15% and move to the right middle.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.  Duplicate and mirror.  Move this down so the butterfly is on the flower.

Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 4, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Apply WSL mask 84 and merge group.  Resize 105% all layers not checked and repeat.

Add your copyright and name.  Save as png.
