PTU: Icy Blues

This tutorial was written by me on April 1, 2013 and are the result of my own imagination. Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental.

This tutorial was written assuming you have working knowledge of  PSP.

Supplies needed

I am using PSP X4 but this tutorial should work with any version.

PTU Tube:  I am using the fantastic artwork of Anna Marine.   Please do not use this artwork without a  proper license.  You can purchase this fantastic tube at CDO here

PTU scrap kit:  I am using Inspired by Anna Marine 7-3 by BabyCakes Scraps.  Thank you for creating this gorgeous kit.  You can purchase this kit at CDO here.  This kit can be used with any artist.

Visit Babycakes blog here to check out her awesome kits.

Mask: DBV Mask 145.  You can get it at her blog here.  Thank you Vaybs for the great masks.

Plug in:  Eyecandy 4000, Gradient Glow

This tutorial was written using the supplies above.  If you are using a different tube or scrap kit you may need to make adjustments.  I am using a drop shadow of V/H 2 Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise state.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Open element 27, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 90%.  Using your magic wand, click inside the frame.

Selections, modify, expand by 12.  Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 2, paste as a new layer, selections, invert and hit delete on your keyboard.  Select none.  Move the paper layer under the frame and drop shadow the frame.

Copy your tube and paste as a new layer and drop shadow.  don't worry about the over hand as we will cover this up.

Open element 18, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and Drop shadow.  Move this to the bottom right of the tube. See mine for placement.

Open element 6, copy and close the original.   Paste as a new layer and resize 60%.  Move this to the upper left corner of the frame.  Move this layer under your tube layer.  Drop shadow.  Duplicate and move the duplicate above your tube layer.  Using your eraser tool, erase the top part of the cluster that covers the face and shoulder.   See my example.

Open element 23, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 80%.  Move this layer under your tube layer and move to the right.  You will have part of the large butterfly sticking out from the bottom of your tube.  Use the eraser tool to erase it.  Drop shadow.

Open element 22, copy and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and move to the bottom left corner.  Move this layer above the frame layer.  Duplicate and move up and to the right.  See mine for placement.

Open element 30, copy and close the original.  select the top layer and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and move to the bottom slightly to the left.  Effect, Eyecandy, gradient glow, Change the glow width to 10 on the basic tab and select medium on the color tab.

Select raster 1, Paste paper of choice or fill with color of choice.   I am using #343974 and added noise, Gaussian, 50%, monochrome checked.  Apply mask DBV 145 and merge group.

Add your copyright and name.  Save as png and your done.

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial.  I would love to see your results.

Hugs,

Gwils
