PTU: Shadow Circus


This tutorial was written by me on March 17, 2013 and are the result of my own imagination. Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental.

This tutorial was written assuming you have working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies needed

I am using PSP X4 but this tutorial should work with any version.

PTU Tube:  I am using the fantastic artwork of Amy Brown. Please do not use this artwork without a  proper license.  You can purchase this gorgeous tube at CDO here.
 
PTU scrap kit:  I am using Inspired by Amy Brown 81-2 by Crazy Carita.  Thank you for creating this gorgeous kit.  You can purchase this kit at CDO here

Mask: WSL_mask 119 by Weescotslass Creations.  You can get it here.

Plug ins: none.

This tutorial was written using the supplies above.  If you are using a different tube or scrap kit you may need to make adjustments.  I am using a drop shadow of V/H 2 Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise state.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Open element 2, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 50%.  Duplicate this layer and hide it for now.  Back to your original frame.  Click inside the frame using your magic wand.  Selections, modify, expand by 5.  Select raster 1 and add a new layer.  Open element 20, copy and close the original.  Standing on your new raster layer, edit, paste into selections, select none.  Drop shadow your frame and merge down.  Hide this layer for now.

Unhide your duplicate frame.  Click inside your frame using your magic wand.  Selections, modify, expand by 5.  Add a new raster layer.  Open paper of choice.  I am uisng paper 1, copy and close the original.  Edit, paste into selections.  Add a new raster layer again.  Copy one of your tubes with the frame I am using #2.  Back to your tag.  Edit, paste into selections.  Select none.  Drop shadow the tube and frame.  Drag your frame layer above the tube and paper layer.  Merge down these 3 layers.  Image resize, 70%.  Image free rotate to the left 25 degrees.

Unhide your original frame.  Move the duplicate to the lower left.  See mine for placement.

Open element 14, copy and close the original.  Select your main frame and paste as a new layer.  Move this to the bottom of your frame.  See mine for placement.  Duplicate and move the duplicate layer above the second frame.  Using your eraser tool, carefully erase the 2 top leaves.

Open element 11, copy and close the original. Select raster 1 and paste as a new layer.  Move this slightly down so you see the bottom set under your frames.

Open element 18, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 70%  Move this to the left side of your main frame.  Move this layer under your ivy layer.  Drop shadow.  Duplicate and mirror.  Resize 90% and move to the right side of the main frame.  See mine for placement.  Move this layer above your frame layer.

Open your tube and copy the imp.  Paste as a new layer and resize 60%.  Move him to the right of the frame so he is looks like he is standing on the stairs and holding the lamp.  Move this layer above the lamp layer.  Drop shadow.

Open your tube and copy girl of choice.  I am using layer 3. Select the top layer and paste.  Image resize 90% and move to the left of your tag.  I hve her standing on the ivy leaf.  Drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 19, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and move to the bottom left Move this layer under the stair layer.  See mine for placement.  Duplicate and mirror.  Move this to the top right corner of the stairs.  See mine for placement.

Select the bottom ivy layer and duplicate.  Move this slightly to the right.  Move this layer just above the Imp layer.  Using your eraser tool, carfully erase the top ivy leaf.  Duplicate again and move this layer to the top of your main frame.  Move this layer under the frame layer.  Move slightly to the left.  Duplicate and flip.  Move slightly to the right.

Open element 9, copy and close the original.  Select your top ivy layer and paste as a new layer.  Image, resize 60% and drop shadow.  Move to the lower middle.  See mine for placement.

Open element 15, copy and close the original.  Select the left lamp layer and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and move to the right so it is in between the ivys.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 16, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste as a new layer. 

Hide raster 1 and merge visable.  Resize 90% all layers not checked. 

Unhide raster 1, open paper of choice.  I am using paper 2, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and apply WSL_mask 119 and merge group.  Image resize 115% all layers not checked.

Add your copyright and name.  Save as png and your done.  I hope you
